Mama's Girl Market

So this was a tough decision. My Aunt and I had to make a tough choice are we going to go to London, Norway or Italy. My Aunt has been to London and was looking for something new. Did I mention there wasn't a very good exchange rate either. Norway weather was cold, did not back any winter clothing, so that stop is out. It is going to be a stop in the future. Our family is from there which makes it a must visit kinda place. Soooooooo Italy it is. This was a good choice. The exchange rate was in our favor, the weather was perfect and the people are great. Our hotel in Rome was just a few blocks away from the Colosseum and Cesar's Place.  Hard to believe that this is still standing after all these year. The Roman's really know how to build.

During the trip, I felt that it was only appropriate to visit Normandy . I can't even imagine what those young boys where thinking as they were getting off the boats on D-day. All of the memorials were done very well and will leave you speechless   Germany Pillbox   This is the view from inside. Very narrow opening.        Notice the color difference. Those young men where dropped off where the dark shade starts. It was high tide when we visited. Its a very long beach during low tide.   Same with the picture below. If you look to the upper left right above the red roof, you will see a pillbox .      This wall is huge and long with all the names of all the Missing in Action Yes the Coast Guard was involved in the invasion, hard to believed that we only had one person missing. My Aunt and I hopped on a train to Paire from Germany. It was about a 3 hour train ride. Seats were comfy. If you can pay a little extra for the leg room. All aboard You can see much of the most beautiful country side this way.  Stopped for a spot of tea. YAY, its the Eiffel tower. I always thought it was amazing in pictures but to see it in person was breath taking.  Louvre  Saw the famous Mona Lisa . I would recommend making this your first stop. There can be a lot pushy people trying to get a look at her. Norte Dame  I had climbed the 402 narrow steps to the bell tower. While I was up there the bells where ringing. Such an amazing sound. I was able to record it on my phone. ( Cant figure out how to share it with you guys, sorry)  I don't remember how many steps it was to the very top of the tower. After Germany and a 6 hour bus ride, my Aunt and I headed to Czech Republic. Its a really small spot on the map. First we went to Prague . It felt like walking around main street of Disney land. So many colors. A very unique gothic looking church Before there were street names and signs. They used animals and other designs above the door As we were walking around there where many street performers. This one really caught my eye. That is a real person on top of the stick. I had walked passed this one a number of times at one point I was there for 5mins. How on earth did they do this? Karlovy Vary This was another magical stop. The money is beautiful If you ever visit, make sure to get one of these amazing wafers. They are huge and come in many flavors. People from all over the world come here, because they think the water has magical healing powers. It just might. I did sample some. Each fountain temperature...

The third week into the trip we stopped over into Germany. Met some pretty amazing people. Krislynne friends were very nice. Krista happened to have a friend that was there during the same time, Christine. I would like to thank these two wonderful ladies again for driving, letting us crash your house and being our tour guides during our visit. It really meant a lot to Krista and I.   On evening we took a train to another town to experience wine fest, the biggest in the country. This event also included a smaller version of beer fest. It was crazy, so many people. Cant help but love the old time feel of this country. They still use wood street signs in some areas. Germany was a nice stop. We stayed at Krislynne place, she is really lucky to have the opportunity to live in a different country. Didn't do the traditional things that people do when they visit here. But we did hit up a lot of castles, churches, sampled wine and sampled local food.  Wha...
