Just a quick stop in Czech Reublic

After Germany and a 6 hour bus ride, my Aunt and I headed to Czech Republic. Its a really small spot on the map. First we went to Prague . It felt like walking around main street of Disney land. So many colors. A very unique gothic looking church Before there were street names and signs. They used animals and other designs above the door As we were walking around there where many street performers. This one really caught my eye. That is a real person on top of the stick. I had walked passed this one a number of times at one point I was there for 5mins. How on earth did they do this? Karlovy Vary This was another magical stop. The money is beautiful If you ever visit, make sure to get one of these amazing wafers. They are huge and come in many flavors. People from all over the world come here, because they think the water has magical healing powers. It just might. I did sample some. Each fountain temperature...

Third stop Germany

The third week into the trip we stopped over into Germany. Met some pretty amazing people. Krislynne friends were very nice. Krista happened to have a friend that was there during the same time, Christine. I would like to thank these two wonderful ladies again for driving, letting us crash your house and being our tour guides during our visit. It really meant a lot to Krista and I.   On evening we took a train to another town to experience wine fest, the biggest in the country. This event also included a smaller version of beer fest. It was crazy, so many people. Cant help but love the old time feel of this country. They still use wood street signs in some areas. Germany was a nice stop. We stayed at Krislynne place, she is really lucky to have the opportunity to live in a different country. Didn't do the traditional things that people do when they visit here. But we did hit up a lot of castles, churches, sampled wine and sampled local food.  Wha...

More Scotland fun

Just a few more things that we enjoyed during our trip. We had rented a car. Drove on the opposite side of the road and wait for it, drove a stick shift.  Fun!! And if I never see a round about again, I won't be to sad. Krista was great navigating us. (If you ever go pay the extra $50 a day and get the GPS, TRUST US). Tried haggis for the first and last time. So gross. Had some amazing Scottish scones and Scottish Lorne sausage. That has been my favorite breakfast since I was a little girl and still is. My dad's side of the family is from Glasgow. My great grandmother is buried there and hope one day to make it back and visit her grave. Sadly time was running short. I did get to see the area of where my father was born. The flat above the pub is no longer there. I did get to see the street and the pub. That was still pretty exciting. We spent a lot of our time in Edinburgh. Here are just a few more pictures of the trip. ...

Hey, Harry Potter fans

Are any of you guys Harry Potter fans. Then you really want to make sure that you get a chance to check out some of these stops. So randomly during this trip we stopped at some of Harry Potter hot spots. I enjoyed all of the movies. Krista read the books, saw the movies and is a HUGE fan. This school was an inspiration for the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was actually a quick stop during our haunted tour of Edinburgh, as we walked through the cemetery. The Balmoral hotel is where the last book was created. Very nice hotel inside. Before you go in there is a Bellhop that gets the door for you. I think that is so cool. Gives it more of a real rich feeling.  You can have a tea day which includes different flavored teas and 3 tier tray of lovely desserts.  Yummy! The rail bridge you see in this picture was used as the Hogwarts express train . We didn't get a chance to take the t...

Welcome to

Scotland There should be no surprise that us girls would go here.  The first day we drove around and found a really cute B and B. The next day we picked up Kristlynne. ( that's Kristas sister in law) I know what your thinking two crazy gals was trouble but three crazy gals. All 3 of us have some kind of connection with Scotland. As we were driving back from Sterling we stopped at the  Kelpies . These horse heads are huge. They can be seen from the highway. A lot of creativity and work when into creating these. As an artist I can really respect what the artist has created. ...

Last of Ireland, but more travels ahead

Ireland was fun. We meet a lot of interesting and fun people. Saw a lot of interesting things and learned a lot about Ireland. Saw the country side by train and bus. Ate amazing local food. Immersed ourselves in the local culture. Had a ghost haunting the hall of the B an B. Saw endless amounts of castles. Visited the last port of call of the Titanic . Hung my feet off the Cliffs of Moher . Krista was able to able to enjoy a frothy Guinness freshly brewed. Rode along the Ring of Kerry. Randomly stopped to stretch our legs and see the sights. This man and his donkey were selling fruits and homemade goods. This little guy was spent from his travels. Krista and I had the opportunity to see first hand how herding sheep is done. We learned how the dogs are trained. Then we watched the dogs herd the sheep. Was really neat to watch. What a view for eating lunch. I had ordered shepherds pie. (This was the small plate) Soooo good and filling. The...

Ireland part 2

After our busy day of travel, we finally checked into our cute little hotel. Very friendly staff and very helpful. The next morning we were up early to catch a train to cork. We used Viator to book our three days trip. I highly recommend using this site for all of your travel tours.  Saw lots of the most beautiful country side. When out of the city there is lot of green. Can differently see why it's called the Emerald Isle. One of the stops along the way was the  Cliffs of Moher . Amazing work by Mother Earth. These cliffs are 700 ft above the Atlantic Ocean.    I love this picture of my feet hanging off the cliff, was  kinda a rush. Wind was lightly blowing + salty smell in the air + watching the waves hit the rocks below = Peacefulness We stopped in Cobh was once known as Cove also known as Queenstown. Why is this important you might be wondering. This was the last port of call for the Titanic before she ...
