Third stop Germany

The third week into the trip we stopped over into Germany.

Met some pretty amazing people. Krislynne friends were very nice. Krista happened to have a friend that was there during the same time, Christine. I would like to thank these two wonderful ladies again for driving, letting us crash your house and being our tour guides during our visit. It really meant a lot to Krista and I.

On evening we took a train to another town to experience wine fest, the biggest in the country. This event also included a smaller version of beer fest. It was crazy, so many people.

Cant help but love the old time feel of this country. They still use wood street signs in some areas.

Germany was a nice stop. We stayed at Krislynne place, she is really lucky to have the opportunity to live in a different country. Didn't do the traditional things that people do when they visit here. But we did hit up a lot of castles, churches, sampled wine and sampled local food.

What else but to do some wine tasting in the cellar of an old castle.

I'm still amazed how each country has their own unique style of castles. Even the inside of these amazing places are uniquely different. Pictured below is a mix of a few that we had seen.

Fantastic view of the town below, the winery's and the Rhine River. (this is the main river in Germany. It is 527km which is 327 miles)

This is a picture of one of the winery's

Wienershnitzel ( yummy pork chops with fries).

This meal was delightful. This is the Wienershnitzel

Somethings that you will need to try is spaghetti ice
(this is ice cream that is shaped like spaghetti noodles)

Strawberry Spaghetti Ice YUMMY!!

This gem had some really good food. Tried duck for the first time here. I think I could have it again.

The signs here I found to be very funny, soooo I thought I would share.

Sadly this was Kristas last stop. She flew home and my Aunt joined in on the rest of the adventure. My Aunt got off the plane to a nap. When she woke up Krislynne took us to the bus stop and we were off to ............

Welcome to

Scotland There should be no surprise that us girls would go here.  The first day we drove around and found a really cute B and B. The next day we picked up Kristlynne. ( that's Kristas sister in law) I know what your thinking two crazy gals was trouble but three crazy gals. All 3 of us have some kind of connection with Scotland. As we were driving back from Sterling we stopped at the  Kelpies . These horse heads are huge. They can be seen from the highway. A lot of creativity and work when into creating these. As an artist I can really respect what the artist has created. ...

Monterey Fun

My friend Skyler was leaving for a Coast Guard trade school. She is going to go for MST, that is a marina science technician. We thought we should go on one more trip before she left. So we  headed off to one of our favorite places MONTEREY. While we were there we thought it would be fun to go diving. SOOO we did what any mermaid would do but go to the local dive shop, rent some gear and went diving.  The weather was a perfect 80 degrees. The water temperature was a freezing 50 degrees.  (Just a little cold) Here are a few pictures of the dive. This was a large Sea Hare Slug. He was close to a foot long  (Fun fact they can grow up to 16in long) I have not seen so many sand dollars in one place.  It was a really neat thing to see. That little white speck is an octopus (Just a baby) That's me That's Skyler We also went  looking for Mermaid Tears (sea glass, found a good amount) and did some shopping...

DIY Wedding Ring Box

It's been a while since I shared a DIY project. My little brother got married, there's a few projects that I did for this joyous occasion. I am really excited about how they turned out. I wanted to share with everyone the Wedding ring box project. The bride has shown me a picture of one that she liked online. And I thought it would be an easy task to make one instead of buying one. I found this little box at Jo Ann's craft store. Frist I started by removing the hardware. Stained it a dark color. After that was done drying, it was painted with a cream color. Then lightly sanded the corners and some of the flat surfaces, for a rustic look. I used transferable paper to get the image onto the box. I had purchased a small thing of silk and used Polly fill, for where the rings will sit. I did have an oopsie, had put the words inside the lid upside down. It was an easy fix. I couldn't be any happier with the way it turned ...
