Hey, Harry Potter fans

Are any of you guys Harry Potter fans. Then you really want to make sure that you get a chance to check out some of these stops. So randomly during this trip we stopped at some of Harry Potter hot spots. I enjoyed all of the movies. Krista read the books, saw the movies and is a HUGE fan.

This school was an inspiration for the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was actually a quick stop during our haunted tour of Edinburgh, as we walked through the cemetery.

The Balmoral hotel is where the last book was created. Very nice hotel inside. Before you go in there is a Bellhop that gets the door for you. I think that is so cool. Gives it more of a real rich feeling.  You can have a tea day which includes different flavored teas and 3 tier tray of lovely desserts.  Yummy!

The rail bridge you see in this picture was used as the Hogwarts express train. We didn't get a chance to take the train ride. Sadly, it was all booked for the week that we were there. If you want this to be part of your adventure. Make sure to book early.

The Elephant bar is where J.K Rowling wrote the first book in the series. I can see why. The uniqueness of the place can really help the creative mind.  Of course we had to eat there. If you stop to eat here you will not be disappointed. The food was great and he serving sizes are huge. The inside was really neat. The chairs were carved to look like elephants. Which I found to be really creative. the seats where not that bad to sit in either. If you can avoid eating during what the locals call  'American dinner time' . You could expect to wait a long time for a table.

Stops in Italy, Pompeii

There's only a few more stops till I head back to the good ole US of A. One of the stops was Pompeii . This was a very interesting stop. Its amazing to see what had survived after so many years. I would recommend trying to be in with one of the first tour groups. This is only opened for a few hours in the morning, then a few hours in the late afternoon. There were sooooo many people as the day went on. There is a small street market to shop while you wait for it to open and some good places to eat. Even in 79 A.D there was a red light district. Yes, you do see something in the bottom right corner, hehe That's how you know where you were at. The tile patterns are so pretty and unique. The pattern below tells you, who's house you are at. Its what was used as an address. Some pottery that had survived    The roof of one of the many bath houses Statues like this can be found in the rich homes and was used...
