DIY Record Bowl

DIY Record Bowl My grandmother saw some record bowls when we were at the Treasure Island flea market. (pictures of the day to follow soon) Being a DIYer and having a huge box of old records, I told her that I would make her some.  To start you need to pick out a record. I went out to the barn and pulled out this record. Turn on the oven to 350 degree. As you are waiting for the oven to warm up pull out the rest of the items that you are going to need, cookie sheet, a bowl that can go in the oven (pyrex is what I used), oven mitts and  a clean space on the counter.  Lay the record evenly over the bowl.  Once the oven is warmed carefully place the cookie sheet in the oven.  It doesnt take very long for the vinyl to soften up. See how it drapes over the bowl. Carefully remove the cookie sheet. You can start molding into shape while on the bowl. (make sure you are using oven mitts, IT'S HOT!) Then you can take off the bowl.
