Chicken wire Crown

So if you were wondering what to do with that extra wire from the Chicken wire frame. Make a crown.   I wanted to make a crown for my Aunts birthday. We love the ocean and everything that lives in it. So I thought it would be a perfect gift for a mermaid.    I first laid out the left over wire and cut to size and shape (remember be careful)      Then attached the ends together to keep it from opening. and keep its shape. Then comes the fun part decorating it. Found some turquoise spray paint and shells     With a little help from E-6000 a master piece was created.     Needless to say she loved it.   Enjoy and happy crafting!!

Chicken wire frame

A few weeks ago I decide I was going to make a chicken wire frame. Don't truly relieve how much work it was going to take. But it was fun.  SO lets get started...... First you'll need to buy a roll of chicken wire, staple gun, staples, wire cutters, glue and ribbon. Use extra care while cutting the wire. I had cut my self a few times. At one point I almost gave up.   Measure out the frame then cut out what you measured off the wire. Turn frame upside down on a soft surface. Get the staple gun ready. Lay the chicken wire on the frame (ensure it is even). Now staple away, just enough to hold the wire on. Now with the ribbon and glue lay around the edges to make sure that when you hang it the wall wont get scratched.   When done, this is what you get. A cute little frame to hand up notes, pictures and what ever your heart desires. Use clothes pins or paper clips.       Next time I will blog about what to do with the extra wire Don't want to go through al

Just a day at the show

We got up at 4:30 to try and make it to Roseville by 6. We were a little slow getting out of the house. I really feel sorry of the commuters that get up at the time for work weekly.  The morning started off good with a little chill in the air. The Antique Trove was cooking up free hot dogs for lunch. And oh my how the day warmed up 93 degrees, felt a lot warmer than that. The wind was out of control. Vendors packed up and left. Some tents went flying, glass was breaking and it was hot.  So all an all   Sunday was a great sale day. Now its time to go shopping to replenish with new goods. Oh how I love to shop. The new canopy showed up just in time for the show. Cant help but say we were the cutest ones there. Towards the end of the day and mostly due to the heat. Mama started to get cranky. To make her happy and to cool us both down we stopped for tea at Starbucks. Yum The drive hour and a half drive home wasn't bad.  Got home and just relaxed. It's two weeks later a

Repurposing a Vintage Suitcase

I have seen all of these cute suitcase repurposed and thought Ill give it a try myself. So I started with a blue suitcase.   (really needs some love)   So I tore everything out and started from scratch. I cut out some cork board and some fabric for starters.     Then bought the best glue I could find. I started gluing the fabric to the cork board.       Inserted the board to the buttom of the suitcase. (this took some time. cut the board to big the first time)   (finally the perfect fit)   Now it was time to start on the top half.  I will be using this to carry my supplies to and from the antiques shows. I had to make sure I had a small pocket for my square and some randoms.     Didn't it turn out super cute.     Now  Mama's Girl Market  is ready for the show.
